Still, there are a few things to consider when choosing the right fit; maxi dresses are available in both long and shorter lengths, and some are designed with more volume and fabric than others. Here's how to choose just the right maxi dress for your style and body type.

Choose a maxi dress that's fitted around the waist if you have a larger frame. The typical maxi dress is billowy and sits like a tunic; pick a cut that is fitted and tighter around the waist for a pulled together look.

Some people have a difficult time wearing a Maxi Dress because they complain that being short, they feel that Maxi Dresses are overwhelming and don't compliment their body type. I disagree with that. Standing at 5'2" I'm completely comfortable wearing Maxi Dresses. I normally wear them with ballet flats or flip flops but sometimes wear them with wedges.
